Class: Fighter specialization
Cavalier features improve the Fighter’s riding, control, and mounted attacks. They apply with any mount that meets the shared Mounted Combat rules; the Cavalier does not gain a bonded mount. These features do not remove or reduce the universal mounted attack and AC penalties.
Class: Fighter 4 (Cavalier)
While mounted, you gain a +2 Supernatural bonus on Ride checks made to remain mounted or use the Ride Redirection Shield rule in Mounted Combat.
Class: Fighter 8 (Cavalier)
Once per round, if your mount moves at least 10 feet in a straight line toward a creature before you attack it, your first melee weapon attack that hits that creature before the end of the round deals an extra 1d6 damage. This movement and attack count as a mounted charge for Cavalier features. This extra damage is not multiplied on a critical hit.
Class: Fighter 12 (Cavalier)
Whenever you fail a Ride check triggered by your mount attacking, taking damage, or suffering a listed destabilizing condition, you may reroll it once. You must use the new result. This benefit has no per-rest limit.
Class: Fighter 16 (Cavalier)
The extra damage from Mounted Momentum increases to 2d6.
Class: Fighter 20 (Cavalier)
Your Cavalry Training bonus increases to +4, and the extra damage from Mounted Momentum increases to 3d6. When that extra damage is dealt as part of a mounted charge, double it to 6d6. This doubles only Mounted Momentum’s extra damage, not the attack’s weapon damage or other bonuses; it is still not multiplied on a critical hit.
