Weapon Master

Class: Fighter specialization

The Weapon Master develops exceptional skill with one preferred weapon, improving its critical profile and channeling ki into a nearly certain strike.

Preferred Weapon

Class: Fighter 4 (Weapon Master)

Choose one weapon type from the weapons with which you are proficient, such as the longsword or longbow. This is your preferred weapon; the choice cannot be changed. The choice applies to that weapon type, not to one individual weapon or item.

Ki Strike

Class: Fighter 4 (Weapon Master)

Before making an attack roll with your preferred weapon, you may spend one use of Ki Strike to gain a +20 Supernatural bonus on that attack roll. The attack ignores miss chances from concealment. Ki Strike does not take a separate action; it modifies one attack made as part of another action.

You can use Ki Strike a number of times per Short Rest equal to your Wisdom modifier (minimum 1 use). You regain all expended uses when you finish a Short Rest.

Improved Critical Multiplier

Class: Fighter 12 (Weapon Master)

Increase your preferred weapon’s critical damage multiplier by one step: x2 becomes x3, x3 becomes x4, and so on. If the weapon is Broken, the Broken weapon rule still limits its multiplier to x2.

Expanded Critical Range

Class: Fighter 16 (Weapon Master)

Double the number of natural d20 results in your preferred weapon’s base critical threat range. For example, a base range of 20 becomes 19-20, while a base range of 19-20 becomes 17-20. Other effects that expand threat range do not stack with this feature; use the single effect that grants the widest range.

Master of the Weapon

Class: Fighter 20 (Weapon Master)

Increase your preferred weapon’s critical damage multiplier by one additional step. This stacks with Improved Critical Multiplier. For example, a preferred weapon with a base multiplier of x2 has a multiplier of x4 from these two features. The Broken weapon limit still applies.

Weapon critical profiles and general critical-hit resolution need a shared rule.
